VDNKh pavilions
Moscow, VDNKh
Appeared on the territory of the renewed VDNKh, the pavilions were constructed as module-kits with cafes, shops and bicycle rentals within. They were made as architecturally-transparent as it was possible, in order to be delicately integrated into the whole ensemble of the complex. Pavilions' facades are made of a matte or clear glass; a flat roof with cantilever flights around the edges rests on six slender columns.

"The task was to build new premises that wouldn't spoil the general view of the park and cover the buildings. That's why they were made as architecturally-transparent as it was possible, in order to be delicately integrated into the whole ensemble of the complex. The territory of VDNKh is a unique architectural monument. Its unified ensemble is a multi-layered fold of different epochs expressed in various architectural styles: from Stalin Empire and Art Deco to the outstanding examples of Soviet modernism of the 60s and 70s. This stratification of architectural decisions, different in their spirit and philosophy, is valuable by itself as the material testimony of the history of the country.

Exactly because of it, the stylistics of the temporary objects isn't tied to architectural solution of specific buildings of VDNKh. It has to be neutral for not to belittle the merits of the original constructional plan and not to emphasize the primacy of each style of general ensemble.
